Networking Data Cabling London
Everything in a modern building runs on the network. Your CCTV cameras, access control readers, phones, computers, and wireless access points all need a cable infrastructure that is installed properly and built to last. We carry out network cabling installations across London for offices, hotels, schools, warehouses, and commercial sites. Our engineers install structured cabling to industry standards, from a small office patch panel to a full-building Cat6A infrastructure. If your network is unreliable, slow, or just poorly put together from years of add-on extensions, we can survey what you have and quote for a proper installation.
What Network Cabling Installation Includes
Structured cabling is the backbone of any building's IT and communications infrastructure. A good installation means every workstation, phone point, and wireless access point has a clean, tested cable run back to a central patch panel in a comms cabinet. When something goes wrong or something needs changing, you know exactly what connects to what.
We install Cat6 and Cat6A cabling for standard and high-speed Ethernet connections. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit speeds at cable lengths up to 100 metres, which makes it the right choice for new installations where you want the infrastructure to last ten years or more. We also install fibre optic cable for long runs or connections between buildings where copper would not perform reliably.
Each cable we install is tested end-to-end using a cable tester that produces a printed certification report. You get documentation showing every cable meets the standard it was installed to. If a cable fails, we find it and fix it before we hand over.
We also install the comms cabinet itself, including patch panels, switches, and cable management. A tidy cabinet with properly labelled ports makes future changes and fault-finding much faster. If you have an existing cabinet that has become a mess of unlabelled cables, we can tidy and document that too.
From Survey to Sign-Off
We start with a site survey. Our engineer walks your building, maps out where you need data points, discusses how the building is going to be used, and looks at the cable routes available.
We produce a written quote covering cable quantities, the number of data points, patch panel and cabinet equipment, and installation time. The quote is fixed and itemised.
On the installation days, we run the cables, terminate them at both ends, install the cabinet equipment, and test every run. We label every cable and port at both ends.
At handover, we give you a full set of documentation including the test results and a schedule showing what each port number connects to.
Network Cabling Questions
What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?
Cat6 supports Gigabit speeds at standard lengths and is suitable for most office environments. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit speeds and has better shielding, which reduces interference in environments with lots of cables close together. We recommend Cat6A for new installations because the cost difference is small and the performance headroom is much greater.
Do you install fibre optic cable?
Yes. We install single-mode and multi-mode fibre for long cable runs and building-to-building connections. Fibre is also used where electromagnetic interference is a concern, such as in industrial environments.
Can you work around an occupied office?
Yes. We plan the installation around your working hours and can work in sections to avoid disrupting the whole office at once. For larger installations, this is something we agree during the planning stage.
Do you test the cables after installation?
Yes, every cable is tested and certified. We use a Fluke or equivalent cable tester and produce a full test report covering every run. You receive a copy of this report as part of the handover documentation.
Can you fix or extend our existing cabling?
Yes. If you have an existing installation that needs additional points, repairs, or documentation, we can survey what is there and quote for the work needed.
We carry out network cabling installations across London and into Surrey, Kent, Buckinghamshire, and Middlesex. Whether you need a single office wired or a whole building cabled from scratch, call 020 3302 6838 or fill in the contact form to arrange a free survey.
